- LOL! Goggles :P Chew gum!
- Yes, chew some bubble gum
- Some people just cut them while they are in the water. It blocks the aroma from the onions.
- There is a trick but I forgot what it was, but it's something simple
- Cut the onion underwater. The onion underwater, not you.
- I heard chewing gum helps...but never tried it
- Keep the onions in the fridge - The colder they are the less they cause tears.
- Chew gum. Cut the onion while it's under water. Cut the onion inside of a plastic/zip-lock bag. All of these seem to help.
- Keep your onions in the fridge helps a little bit. Underwater is also good.
- I know that it sounds super silly, and it looks even more silly, but sticking out your tongue while cutting onions works. Honestly. Try it next time you're chopping, you'd be surprised. :)
- It may seem silly, but open your mouth. The enzymes that cause you to tear are attracted to water. Your mouth is closer than your eyes. The trick though is that you must keep your mouth open! If you close it for even a moment you will tear up.
- Take of the outer "layer",then pour water on it.
- Yes making sure the onion is well chilled before chopping, and using a very sharp knife helps as you are breaking less cells that produce the gas/chemical that irritates the eyes. And of course chopping under water does the trick to! Good luck : )
- Easy, put the onion in the freezer for a few minutes or the refrigerator for an hour or more before you cut it. The vapors are less volatile when the onion is cold. Alternatively, you can soak the onion in water before you cut it. It seams to deduce the tears.
- put them in the frezzer for 15mins u can run the water while cutting for some that works or run it under water too
